Green Terra mesh is an environmental gabion type used for erosion control for rivers, shorelines and streambanks and reinforced soil slope for roads, residential areas. They provide immediate and long-term erosion control and create conditions for plant establishment.
Green Terra mesh used to make the water speed slower near the bank and trap sediment. It consists of base(A), reinforced hexagonal wire mesh gabion(B), coconut fiber blanket(C), welded mesh panel(D), Triangle bracket(E), pre-formed steel strut(F).The base is made of a single length of galvanized, galfan(zinc-aluminium alloy) or PVC coated hexagonal wire mesh boxes with an 45 or 60 degree inclined face, along with a bio-degradable or synthetic blanket on the facing and filled with a mix of stone and topsoil. The heavy blanket has a durability of 3 to 5 years that allows vegetation establishment.
The integrated vegetation provides a high resistance and durability of the structure. The development of root systems, it enhances the resistance of soil provide an important structure.
Live staking and brush layering are two general soil bioengineering techniques use with Green Terra mesh to enhance the reinforcement ability of vegetation.
1.Before load the Green Terra mesh units in container, we fold, bundled by iron wire and compress them to save space.
2.We put the goods in bulk in container or in pallet for more expediently handling.
3.A label can be added with each bundle which identify the size of the units.
4.Lacing wire is supplied in coils.
Ring fasteners are packed in boxes.
When assemble the folded Green Terra mesh after take it from the bundle, you should put it on a hard flat surface. The Green Terra mesh units shall be opened, unfolded and pressed out to their original shape. When you open the folded units, there will be one or two shipping folds. After you place it on a board and walk along the side, they will be removed.
When using lacing wire, cut off a piece of wire about 1,5 times length of the edge to be tied. The maximum length of the edge to be tied at one time shall not exceed 1 m. Longer edges shall be joined by several lengths of wire.
Lacing wires shall be secured around the selvedge wire or heavier edge wire, where present, by looping and twisting the lacing wire around itself. Proceed tying with alternate double and single loops. Double loops shall be made at intervals not greater than 300 mm. All panels shall be pulled tightly together during the tying operation. Pliers may be used to create tight joints. The other end of the lacing wire shall be secured by again looping and twisting the wire around itself.
When using lacing wire to assemble the units, caring about avoiding damaging the wire coating. When using steel ring fasteners, the custom tool is required. Rings shall be installed at the top and the bottom connections of the end and centre diaphragms and then a maximum spacing of 100 mm along all edges shall be used. Connect with ring fasteners between adjacent units. Connections made along the panel edges assure a flat surface for fill placement.
The foundation on which the Green Terra mesh units are to be placed shall be level and graded to the elevations as shown on the project construction drawings, and free of surface irregularities, loose material and vegetation in accordance with the project specifications.
